The Annual Kite-Flying competition is a family-friendly event. It takes place on Easter Monday at Bight Children’s Park, Providenciales. Prizes can be won for the most imaginative, smallest and largest homemade kites. As well as the kite-flying competition, this event also includes an Easter egg hunt, egg and spoon races, Tug-O-War, sack races and hula hooping. There’s plenty of fun to be had for the whole family! Delicious local food and drink are also available to try. From conch fritters to jerk chicken, there’s an amazing selection of grub to choose from.
Situated in between two uninhabited islands, Half Moon Bay is a serene tropical beach. Although just a short distance from east Providenciales, you’ll have to travel here by boat, which makes it all the more exciting. Various boat charter companies are available to hire from Grace Bay, or you can even reach Half Moon Bay via kayak. This quiet island features a shallow lagoon and limestone cliffs. You may even cross paths with a rock iguana! If you’re feeling adventurous, take a trip to Bird Rock Trail, on the eastern point of Providenciales for a spot of light hiking and birdwatching. This route will lead you to some wetlands and then through to a limestone buff which offers gorgeous vistas.
