The beaches of St. Vincent & the Grenadines are the epitome of a Caribbean getaway; crystalline turquoise waters, powder-soft sand and swaying palm trees. These dreamy beaches come in all shapes and sizes and there are so many to explore. From striking black sand beaches to secluded coves and mystical rock pools, these coastlines are truly spectacular.
Named after the late Princess Margaret herself, this beach is certainly fit for royalty. Pristine white sand blissfully blends into the turquoise waters that gently lap the shore. Villa is one of St Vincent’s most popular beaches. This narrow stretch of golden sand is popular for cruise passengers disembarking from the terminal in Kingstown, just 10 mins drive away. The tranquil waters make it a great spot from swimming and snorkelling.
Separated from Villa Beach by a hill, Indian Bay is another narrow stretch of beach with a very tropical feel. It’s a bit rockier here so is often quieter than its neighbour over the hill. The yellow-white sand is backed by lush greenery and colourful houses.
Arguably the best black sand beach in St. Vincent, Mt. Wynne is a popular picnic spot from locals and often used enroute to and from the Falls of Balenine. This wildly tropical bay is usually quiet and the perfect exotic escape. There are no cafes or restaurants at Mt. Wynne but there is a toilet you can use for a small fee. Bring your own snorkel and explore the rocks at the side of the beach.
An oasis of calm awaits you on Salt Whistle Bay, a protected beach located on the smallest inhabited island of the Grenadines. This secluded beach oozes with Caribbean charm, after an afternoon of swimming in warm waters head to one of the beach bars or cafes for some tasty homemade food.
Live out your castaway fantasies and bask in glowing beauty of Lower Bay Beach. Glide across stretches of palm-fringed golden sand, snorkel through glistening waters and explore a sleepy fishing village on the beach’s southern side. There’s also a great choice of beachfront restaurants and bars here.
A feeling of serenity washes over the stunning shores of Mustique Island. The crescent shaped Macaroni Beach can be found on the eastern side of the island, made up of powdery white sand and bordered by stunning greenery. This quintessential beach is regarded as one of the best in the world.
Petit Tabac is a remote island encompassed by stunning white sand. Its nickname is ‘Jack Sparrow Island’ as it featured in a Pirates of the Caribbean film. You’ll certainly recognise the iconic grove of palm trees as you approach the island.
There’s more to the Caribbean than white sand beaches... This tiny beach north of Kingstown possesses black volcanic sand! We love it but sometimes the hotel area has blinding white sand shipped in from Guyana.
This beach wraps around the southwest corner of the gorgeous Mustique Island. There’s an almost mystical atmosphere here, as the beach is tucked away between groves of palm trees which provide natural shade and privacy. You’ll find a beautiful lagoon here with a nature trail wrapped around it, which is great for a short walk.
