Most locals spend Easter weekend at the beach with friends and family, camping out, having BBQs, picnics and enjoying the wonderful weather. Hot cross buns are a staple of Easter picnics and are enjoyed for several weeks after. It's also popular to fly kites at Easter – handmade, colourful kites fill the skies along many of the beaches.
