Every February – the 7th to be precise- is Independence Day, and it’s celebrated in traditional Caribbean flair with parades, music and food highlighting the nation’s cultural heritage. Keep a special lookout for the elaborate costumes in their flag's red, green and gold. Carriacou, Grenada's ‘little sister island’ has another festival to look out for, with even more music, dancing and bands, though it is sometimes held in March.
You’ll never really need an excuse to head down the beach, especially If you’re headed to the famed turquoise water and white sand of the Grand Anse. If you’re in Grenada early in February, you might be lucky enough to catch the Workboat regatta too.
