Best Beaches in Varadero

Azure waters and incredible fine white sand beaches surround Varadero's narrow peninsula. The 20 km of coastline consists of one long beach, Varadero Beach, one of the largest and most spectacular beaches in the Caribbean. As Cuba's top beach holiday destination, there are excellent resorts dotted all along the coast and an infinite number of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Varadero Beach

Varadero offers 20 km of ice-white sandy heaven and a brilliant blue sea to match. Varadero beach, also known as Playa Azul (Blue Beach), is one of the most spectacular beaches in the Caribbean. Lounge on a sun recliner under the shade of a parasol while you sip a fresh cocktail and watch the gentle waves roll in. Excellent beachfront resorts line the peninsula, including our favourites Royalton Hicacos Resort & Spa, Melia Varadero and Iberostar Selection Varadero.

Cayo Blanco

Cayo Blanco is one of the best beaches in Varadero, with crystalline waters and soft sand. This isolated islet is located near Varadero on the northern coast of Cuba and is virtually untouched, and is even named for its fine, white sand. The coral reefs are great for exploration and offer a beautiful environment for diving.

El Mamey Beach, Matanzas

Playa El Mamey is further inland and not on the peninsula, but it is only a half hour drive from Varadero. Here, there are some great rock formations in a crescent enclave. It might also be a quieter spot here, with less crowds which means you can enjoy the tranquillity of this beautiful spot.
