Bermuda is full of beautiful beaches, including the infamous pink beaches that always leave visitors stunned. Every beach in Bermuda is stunning and offers a wide range of activities, here are some of our favourites...
Possibly one of the most photographed beaches in Bermuda, Horseshoe Bay Beach is currently ranked in the top 10 beaches in the world and is perfect for children and adults alike.
With an adjacent children’s beach, low tides perfect for swimming, and facilities close by, this beach is not to be missed. With a border of natural limestone cliffs and large reefs with an abundance of marine life, this is any avid snorkeller's idea of paradise.
With staple turquoise waters, semi-submerged rock formations and a long expanse of soft sea, Warwick Long Bay is an ideal spot for all you beach lovers. At half a mile long, Warwick Long Bay is one of Bermuda’s longest beaches with untamed vegetation that adds to the level of wild beauty and a stark contrast to the gentle blue waves and soft pink sand.
Located in Warwick Parish, Jobson’s Cove is a slightly smaller beach but secluded and encased by large rock formations. This means Jobson’s cove is protected from the ocean, so the water is extremely calm and since it is shallow in parts, it is an ideal place to let the kids try out their snorkel skills and spot some colourful marine life.
Another popular beach, Elbow beach is in Paget Parish just off the South Road and nestled between the Elbow Beach Resort and Coral beach & Tennis club. With a gentle curve resembling an elbow, this is one of the most beautiful pink beaches in Bermuda. While a part of the beach is privately owned by the resort of the same name, a good stretch is open to the public and a great place to lounge on the sand and wade into the gentle blue waves.
Another beautiful and shallow water beach, Clearwater Beach is located on the southeast side of Bermuda, in St. David’s. Rarely visited by visitors, you can expect an empty, quiet beach that’s perfect for families and kids with shallow, calm water. There are facilities including toilets, a playground and a designated picnic area in Clearwater Park.
Along North Shore Road, Shelley Bay Beach is a family-friendly beach with calm, clear waters. Only a 15-minute scooter or taxi ride from Hamilton, the capital city. Along the edge is a line of trees offering shade from the sweltering sun. Nearby, there is a park with a playground and picnic tables.
Popular for activities such as fishing, sailing, and swimming, Mangrove Bay offers a gentle curve of shoreline making it a picturesque quality. Team up with a boat hire from H2O Watersports and you’re in for a fun, and exciting day, or watch the turtles as they munch on the seagrass while you enjoy a picnic.
Looking for a more secluded place to spend a relaxing day, then head to the 17 acres of coastal fun that is Daniel’s Head Park. Set at the western end of Bermuda, Daniel’s Head has two sheltered beaches, tranquil waters and reefs which provide great opportunities to enjoy snorkelling and watching many varieties of tropical, marine life. Next to the beach, there is also a nature reserve where equally exotic birdlife can be found.
Daniel’s Head is easily reached by public transport and has toilets and changing facilities. There are many outlets providing watersports instruction and equipment hire and if you fancy a bite to eat and a drink then a well-furbished café is also on hand.
While West whale Bay beach may be one of Bermuda’s smaller beaches, but it is secluded, with pink sand, stunning turquoise waters, and every spring you might even see some special guests! Found at the western end of Southampton Parish, this beach offers a scenic, peaceful escape with jutting cliffs encircling a pink-sanded shoreline. During the springtime, whales are drawn to Bermuda and this beach is one of the best places to spot them! The shallow, calm waters also mean it’s a great place for younger kids to play around in the gentle surf and explore the colourful coral reefs teeming with marine life.
Stumble upon a slice of paradise in the historical St. George’s Parish on the east end of Bermuda when you visit Tobacco Bay Beach. This must-see spot is the quintessential Bermuda Beach, with soft sand, shallow blue waters, and rocky formations. This beach is one of the best locations for snorkelling while also having an interesting history – when the Sea Venture was wrecked on the reefs of Bermuda in 1609, a small group of castaways began exploring the island paradise and on one of the beaches, they came tobacco-growing wild – hence the name.
