April in Barbados is all about music. Bursting onto the scene in Barbados in 2018 was the Vijuaday Music Festival, featuring house and techno music from international and local DJs. Now held annually over a week at the beginning of April in Bridgetown.
If you missed the Vijuaday Festival, then do not fret as you can still get your festival fix in April on this vivacious island. Check out the Barbados Reggae Festival, regarded as the ‘best reggae festival in the world’, exploding with music acts, lively dancing, and various events for all to revel in. This festival provides epic week-long entertainment from some of the best Reggae acts in the world. If you’re a party animal, then there truly is nowhere else in the world to be in April but Barbados.
Head to Bridgetown to cut some shapes and absorb true Bajan culture at the Barbados Reggae Festival. This event is held over a week at the end of April and is definitely not one to miss out on. While Bridgetown is thriving during this week, why not also use this as your chance to escape the crowds by exploring some of the best beaches on the island, such as Alleynes Bay in St James. Or take the opportunity to marvel at the magnificent Harrisons Cave located in St Thomas; one of Barbados’ most magical natural wonders.
