One event not to be missed in November is the Annual One Bahamas Music & Heritage Festival. This three-day festival takes place during the last week of November on Nassau and Paradise Island, and features tonnes of showstopping live performances and authentic acts.
A must-visit in November is Salt Cay, home to a stunning hidden lagoon guarded by a concrete entrance tower. The lagoon used to be a salt marsh in the late 1800s. Historically pirates would cull salt to use to preserve their food. Hike the steps all the way to the top to absorb the awe-inspiring views. These days, Salt Cay is a popular spot for the rich and famous; you may even have the opportunity to see dolphins here too!
Don't miss the legendary markets in Nassau. First stop, the Straw Market on Bay Street, laden with straw hats, shell jewellery and locally made souvenirs. Head over to Doongalik Studios for the Doongalik Farmers Market, selling delicious local produce including fresh vegetables, homemade cakes, eggs, fish and meat. Be sure not to leave without trying a mouth-watering fish wrap.
