We recently stayed here for 4 nights and unfortunately, I wouldn’t rate this hotel anywhere near 4* I’d say it’s more like a 2-3 star experience at best. Rooms: Patio doors in the room didn’t open, which made it feel stuffy and claustrophobic. There was no spyhole in the room door which felt quite unsafe, especially when there was loud commotion happening outside of our door in the corridor and I couldn’t check who it was especially concerning as my teenage daughter and her friend were staying just opposite. There were mould patches and peeling paint on the walls, chipped tiles on the floor, everything felt very tired and in need of refurbishment. Also, hot water was on & off during our stay. Not a fan of cold showers!!! There is shower gel provided and hand wash. Noise Levels: Are on another level! I do think this is due to location of our room which was right next to the road outside and hotel restaurant and just above the entertainment area. Never been on holiday and woke up so exhausted. Walls are paper-thin, and noise from drunk guests in the corridors kept us up from midnight until around 2:30am every night! It got so bad that the police had to come and remove people from the hotel!!! Not a peaceful night by any means. Facilities: WiFi is provided but I couldn’t never connect, my children had no issues connecting their devices. Launderette on site which is handy. The rooftop bar had beautiful views, this isn’t included in your package. We paid €23 for 2 mocktails, 1 cocktail, and a single spirit with coke. They offer a 10% discount for hotel guests. Small crazy golf area outside & 2 pool tables. There is a handy little shop next to hotel selling essentials. Theres also a free bus service across the road to the beach. Theres also few bars/restaurants along the hotel road we ate one night at Bendita (food was amazing) Restaurant staff are rude especially Elizabeth. Chefs are happy to accommodate & cook eggs how you like them. Breakfast was great your typical full English, pastries, bread, a bit of cheese, pancakes for the kids and some fruit. Lunch you can always find something to eat but evening meal time was exact same so we only ate dinner here once and ate out every night instead which I highly recommend as the town is stunning with amazing restaurants and views. Swimming pool is closed until 10am (they put cones across so you don’t enter the pool 🤭) Pool area had plenty of beds but nowhere to put drinks or bags no small tables at all. You can use hotel beach towels but you need €25 deposit per towel in cash. There was often a smell of drains around the pool. The pool area is very tired and run down. Pool was cold but this was refreshing & what you expect during early season. At the pool bar, they charge €1 for a plastic beaker before you can even get a drink. We turned up without cash and were refused a drink unless we paid for the cup, an unnecessary and frustrating inconvenience. They only serve one cocktail of the day!! So if you don’t like what’s on offer then no cocktails for you! 🙃 Day 2 & 3 the pool bar was closed because it was forecast to rain & guess what? It didn’t rain until 8.30pm!!! Absolutely ridiculous, the pool area was rammed with guests who had to walk through the hotel and down to the basement bar for a drink! There is food at the pool bar from around 3pm. Hot dogs/cheese/bread/chips nothing appetising or fresh it’s wheeled down from the restaurant & just sitting there luke warm. Aqua aerobics was around 12pm each day, if you’re into that kind of thing. There was music playing throughout the day but very low which was disappointing as we couldn’t hear it (not sure if guests had controlled the volume as a large speaker is sat on stage area were people sunbathed) Checkout is 12pm which is a bonus BUT there is no option to use a room to shower/get ready for your late transfer if your flights are at 10pm like ours!! Although reception explained we could use the outdoor showers over at the Bonanza Hotel 🙃 When it comes to check out and storing of your suit cases until you need to leave they have lockers and they charge you €2 per locker that you don’t get back! You must have a €2 coin to be able to use these lockers. And if you want anything from your bag after you have closed the locker well you need to pay another €2 again!!! What an absolute farce. Value for Money: We paid £500 per person for 4 nights. I wouldn’t return and definitely wouldn’t recommend it to others.
