Blue Bay Platinum Hotel

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Honestly my first impression we were tired after setting off at 8:30am British time and arriving at 11:15pm Turkish time, after a horrible transfer which took close to 2 hrs with a 25 mins stop off 30 miles from the hotel, struggling to figure out the WiFi and the room was different to what I had seen online (we are in older block apparently) greek restaurant entertainment was on i just wanted to get into bed I felt stressed out and was immediately regretting my holiday choice as we always go to a Holiday Village. Second day when I had calmed down and got settled into the swing of things I was thinking this place is great. And today a week in I can honestly say it's probably one of the best places I have been on holiday. The staff, all of them are maliciously cleaning checking you are ok, do you need a drink so you want to get involved with the games through the day, the bar staff are all brilliant, the entertainment staff, brilliant, the restaurant and waiting staff, everybody works tirelessly to ensure you have the best holiday experience. I was apprehensive about the food after seeing reviews and I can't understand where they are coming from as it is 10/10 every day so much choice, albeit no English breakfast but is available in the Italian restaurant if you really wanted. The entertainment tonight as I am writing this is absolutely top tier the best I've seen. And would happily pay to go see. If you have any reservations please don't you will not be dissatisfied. WiFi is great, soup supper if you are still hungry late evening also, best holiday I've had to date!!

We are here second time! The hotel and especially the service are great! Best regards, Okcan! The dishes in the restaurant tasted even better with such service:) The hotel is not new, but very clean and classy! that's why we came back! This city is wonderful !

Booked as a last minute holiday with 2 grandsons with asd. It was the first week of season so was very quiet which was ideal for us. Food was delicious, im fussy but i had beef in gravy and chicken dinners. Was so much choice. Waiters in dining room were superb getting us high chairs etc. Wonderful experience all round. Ice cream available all day which was great. Would defo recommend this hotel x

Gave overall score of 3/5 for an All-inclusive holiday back end of Aug 2024 The hotel is apparently a 4+/5* venue. It’s NOT. A 3 or 3+ is more fitting Let me give you the reasons It’s coined as a family destination so that leads to there being 3 or more travellers. The normal rooms, unless you get a family room just do not work. The reason they don’t work is because the bedroom has AC but then they go shove a sofa-bed/bunk in the hall which has no AC making for a extremely uncomfortable night; either the people in the bedroom freeze in an effort to cool the hallway or the ones in the hall bake The rooms have no sound insulation either If your at the front of the complex all you hear is busy road traffic If you are side on to another hotel all you hear is their entertainment and if you anywhere else in the complex you hear the hotel’s entertainment blaring till 2330/midnight EVERY NIGHT, so no point going back to your room for a every/quiet evening The hotel claims to have 4pools. That claim is like saying something is less that £10 by pricing it as £9.99. Technically they have but in reality it’s only two (see pictures) One pool is about 30cm/1ft deep about the size of a typical living room The second pool is where there are two water sides (open for a couple of hours a day!) which are tiny The other two pools are relatively small giving the number of potential guests Now this all seems to be a Turkish/Marmaris thing, but there is no taper to the pools I.e. it’s one depth all round. So if your child can’t swim or is a weak swimmer, as the adult you won’t be getting much sun bathing done as you will need to be in the pool with your kid/kids because guess what; this so called 4+/5* hotel don’t have lifeguard for the main pools. Pathetic! Now on to the sunbeds. There simply isn’t enough if the hotel is 30% or more full. This leads to having to wake up really early to get one. Most days I was needing to get up at 5am and even then there were quite a few which had already been “claimed”. As adult travellers you may get away with it, but if you have young ones who will be in and out the pool every few mins and need to keep an eye on them so need to be closer to the front/by pool, your in for a very inconvenient holiday! The entertainment staff, I feel for them. They try their best but it’s plain to see they are knackered and over worked/burnt out Avoid the on complex shop unless you are desperate. Everything in there is priced as though you are shopping at John Lewis. Instead take a 5min wonder down the main road and get your floats/goggles/whatever. The complex itself however is clean and tidy Food/drink is aplenty but there is nothing premium The staff are worked like dogs by the owners banging out 15/16hrs a day which is noticeable as there doesn’t seem to be a change in “shift” throughout the day Word of caution, all staff are on the take for back handers.

The staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic. Hospitality was 10/10 from reception, cleaning staff and waiters. I would definitely go back, there was something for everyone. I highly recommend venturing out towards the bazaar to try local cuisine. 5 stars for the hotel and the hotel staff. However I am appalled at Tui in regards to how little they pay the Turkish staff. Speaking to other guests, they had discovered that some staff were only paid £450 a month, they would work over 100 hours a week and only get one day off. The staff are there seasonally and pay is disgusting, Tui needs to do better as the staff represent the Tui brand so well. Even in Turkish Currency the pay is still not enough. It is sad that the staff heavily rely on their tips to survive throughout the season when Tui is worth billions. Would Tui be paying non Turkish staff like this?
