Beach Club Doganay

This hotel was a great place for a no thinking, go off and do what you want kids hotel. The hotel is very large and set out across two large buildings. We stayed on a fifth floor room in the building looking over the quiet pool and sea. The rooms were very clean. With adequate air conditioning that would turn down to 18 C. The beds were comfortable and the tv had cable channels such as Eurosport. There was a bottle of water and a couple of bottles of local soda in the fridge, but it was not a mini bar. We had no trouble getting extra towels or sheets as the hotel was pretty quick at supplying anything we asked for. What I really liked about the hotel was the fact you had great contrast, my teenager who is sporty and constantly on the go had the activity pool which had music and entertainment throughout the day. Where as my other son preferred the quiet pool where he could sit and read as well as swim without a huge amount of splashing and screaming. The beach area is nice to visit, however the beach is a shail beach not sand so bring water shoes. We did find the sea current very strong so be careful with weak or non swimmers. The food was very good and evening meals had a lot of variety from wraps and kebabs to seafood and sushi. There was a good selection of western food as well. The only downside of mealtimes was finding a table to sit at, at the height of season you could be waiting ten minutes for a table to empty. My tip is to use the small a-la-carte room which had a number of tables and a good working air conditioning unit. Evening entertainment changed each night and went from karaoke to local dance displays. The garden bar and beach disco stayed open till 2:00am but be warned once the entertainment finishes everyone piles into the garden bar and tables become a premium. I will point out the size of the drinks, they are small and not a half pint that you may expect, this both a good thing and bad. It’s good from the perspective there are not loads of half empty cups everywhere but also you may need two or three drinks to quench your thirst. One thing I do want to mention is room keys, keep them away from electronics as they are very sensitive, we were constantly having them reprogrammed which is a pain at 11:00 at night. Finally one thing that does need to be mentioned is that this hotel is a favourite with Russians and Eastern Europeans l, if you are not used to how they act, such as not queuing then you may get upset. Don’t let this spoil your holiday stand your place and point out that you were waiting and everything will be good. For a family holiday this hotel ticked all the boxes.

I am still in the hotel, our belongings were removed from swimming pool area by staff as it was closing. The reception was not willing to help, just saying to come back later. It looks there is no communication between departments. We are group of 11 people. So far, 4 people got upset stomach and 1 cracked the tooth during the dinner time ( as a compensation they offered a free ride to dental clinic where we were supposed to pay for treatment by ourselves or free clasic massage which anyway everybody gets as a welcome treat). We didn't receive any apology and the admin was quite rude. Finally, i am not recommending this hotel.

Me and my family who are a group of 20 have enjoyed our stay at Beach Club Doganay. We enjoyed all the multi restaurant with different types of food available. Also multiple swimming pools which is better if you have little children in your group.

We have just come back from a week's stay. We went as a family. My review is a mixed review and based on our experiences over the week. We arrived late at night. Check in went smoothly and staff seemed friendly enough. We arrived up to our room to find we only had 3 beds, we were missing pillows, no top sheets (just blankets) and no drinks in the fridge. We mentioned at reception and waited in the room, nothing appeared. We ended up having to pull a fold up bed into the room from the hallway, this had a dirty sheet on it. We went back to reception and eventually had a fresh sheet put on the bed and one pillow (no spares like a family member had in their wardrobe). We gave up on the top sheets and drinks in our fridge, as we had asked a couple of times. The next morning we had a look around. There was no view, we just had the shops and walk way below. The bathroom was dated and in need of a revamp, it wasn't overly clean around the bath and in the cupboard. Toilet roll was sparce and I ended up having to find some myself. Beds were made and fresh towels given each day, although still no drinks in the fridge. Air con was good. Lots of storage space for clothes. The carpet on the landing on the first floor was absolutely filthy, with what looked like a couple of dried sick splatters on it. One night we also saw a cat sleeping in one of the babies travel cots that was left outside the room. They seem to leave cots and fold up beds in the lading spaces outside rooms for the next guests. The fold up bed we had to use was old, not comfortable and covered in stains. We just made do as figured if we can't get drinks and sheets in the room, then doubtful they had a better one we could use. The hotel was packed so doubt there was any others. The kids pool was enjoyable and area kept clean, although very busy. Sun beds were always available before 8.30. The Flora bar was a nice area to sit in for a drink, staff were friendly, although the soft drinks pipes were surrounded by wasps. One evening a drinks pipe was blocked and when unblocked it was because loads of wasps had become stuck up there! There seemed to be plenty of food, although as a vegetarian I found my only hot option all week was a green bean stew and a chicken pea stew along with rice and chips, by day 3 i was fed up. The addition of candy floss/pop corn/ ice cream was nice. We tried the Italian a la carte and was disappointed to find there was only one choice served. Salad, soup, beef and Mash, tiramisu. As a vegetarian, I couldn't eat the main. After, most of us came down with cramps, diarrhea, sickness. Mine was severe cramps, followed by diarrhea for the next 5 days and counting! Same with my daughter. What is the stench in the toilets by the bar and the beach toilets? Made us gag!! One night just before midnight we had a loud knock on the door waking us up,it was maintenance insisting on looking in our bathroom as there was a leak downstairs. I complained as found this unacceptable this late at night with us in bed sleeping! The next morning a fruit platter and wine was sent up. Thought no more of it, but then it happened again the same sort of time of night on our last evening before we had to get up at 5am to be picked up to go home. Again, this woke us. This was totally unacceptable and most definitely not expected from a 5 start hotel! Don't bother with the boat trip unless you like sea swimming as all it does is stop off 3 times to swim in the ocean. We were expecting to stop at places to get off the boat and have a wonder around. There is good bus access to get to the local town. We asked for a taxi to go to the harbour as we wanted to go for a walk and find a restaurant, we were told they had a free service there. What we didn't realise was it was free to the one restaurant, so we had no choice but to eat there! This should've been explained! Most definitely not a 5 star, although potential to be a good 4 star if the following was improved... All beds ready for arrival. Fold up beds are in desperate need of new mattresses. Fridge filled with drinks. Plenty of toilet roll. Bathroom re vamp. No midnight knocks on the door! More hot food selection for vegetarians. Things like beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon etc added to breakfast. Better food hygiene, such as nets over bread (saw flies sitting on the bread). Something done to stops wasps going up drinks pipes. Soap in the communal toilets. Something done with the smell in the toilets. Tables and chairs in the evening entertainment area. Beds should not be left in the hallway! Carpets need a thorough scrub!

I was with my friend group,for one week. I had so much fun there are lots of activites do to throughout a day everything is basically free.pools are amazing.staff is so so nice and friendly.rooms are so nice and clean,wifi is good but in some places there is not good conection
