Second year visit in a row at this wonderful hotel

We visited the Hemera last year and loved it so much we came back again. We requested the same swim up room as last year and they very kindly obliged. The swim up rooms are just superb but there are also many loungers around the hotel by the pools, beach or in the gardens that you don’t need to worry about the dreaded sun bed wars. This is a key issue for me when picking a holiday destination and try to review based on these dislikes. Second time round we actually enjoyed it more as we knew the hotel much better with a set routine. The thing that sets the Hemera apart from other hotels I’ve visited is the team that work there. From the cleaners, waiters to the bar staff, they all work incredibly hard to ensure they provide exemplary service. The service is simply outstanding the management team should be very proud of their team. The hotel facilities are excellent. The cakes at the patisserie are just amazing. Food is very good and many options to eat for lunch and dinner. The entertainment this year was significantly better than last year in our opinion. We only managed 25 mins of the pool party due to pick up but my boys were desperate and loved it again. One thing to mention and not aimed at the Hemera at all is to be cautious of the CIP lounge if considering it at Antalya airport. Antalya airport’s capacity simply can’t match the demand anymore and desperately needs increasing. We paid for the CIP lounge for a quick and stress free experience but was anything but that. The pick ups are late due to trying to keep numbers down at the airport so we ended up getting 20 mins in there. The CIP lounge experience at check in was appalling and we stood for 35 mins waiting for a boarding guard. This made me incredibly angry. If you do opt for it insist the pick up is an additional hour on what TUI indicated in our case. Overall though a wonderful holiday again and we will likely return next summer for a third time in a swim up again. To the management team reading this review, please send our thanks to all your wonderful team. They really are a credit to your brilliant hotel.

Great time for a couple getaway

Our stay was amazing! The hotel is smaller than most around, only about 1000 guests max compared to super-hotels nearby, but it is so full of greenery and content that you never get bored. I’ve read a lot of complaints in other hotels about people grabbing beds early in the morning or similar, but here I’ve never had an issue to find a bed I liked both in the grass and on the shore. They also don’t waste plastic which I did mind in other hotels – there are plenty of glasses and water stations and water bottles are gifted on arrival. Nurcihan has done an amazing job as guest relations, helping me plan a birthday surprise from dreams for my wife who loved every bit of it. Not all the staff was equally great, she really went above and beyond. Sometimes it would happen that staff spoke Turkish, German, or Russian only, and their English was a bit poor, but always there would be someone who could understand English not too far and overall I did not mind that much (this happened more often with staff such as cleaners or gardeners, and never with waiters or reception). Also, hotel (like much of Turkey) has many cats, but they are never intrusive. They also had hedgehogs which you could see almost every night and which were extremely sweet. The hotel has a book with all the flora and fauna that they have and it seems like they really care about the nature they keep which was refreshing. We were a couple who left our kids at home, and worried that the kids in the hotel may be overwhelming, but not at all – the adult-only zones are big enough but inobtrusive so families and romantic couples need not bother each other at all. The flaws include the noise (music plays until 23:00 and if you’d like to sleep, tough luck, although it is quite quiet after that) and the inability of the hotel to make a lunch box for us on the days when we had to skip breakfast. I understand fancy hotel and all, but still, ability to give food to go is not something that would require some amazing logistics. We also once had a problem with a la carte booking, but the manager gave us a substitute the night after which was fine. Overall, 9.5/10, would come back again. The somewhat steeper price is worthwhile the high quality food, passable entertainment and amazing service as well as a beautiful beach (with a dock to skip all the shallow water and rocks and go straight to swimming!) making it head and shoulders above the other hotels around we saw.

Another Fab Family vacation at the Hemear

My wife, son (17) and I returned to the Hemera for the second time, after having stayed at another Barut hotel and an Akra hotel - although they were great, it's not the Hemera. Since our last stay in 2022 the service and hotel has maintained it's great standards. The hotel has changed it's a la carte offerings since we were last there, however, as we booked before the changes they allowed us to book more than two over our fortnight stay. The sushi restaurant, isn't just sushi and is chinese dishes too, which is well worth the supplement of Euro 30 per person. The pool party every wednesday is great fun. The food is plentiful with lots of choices for lunch, at either the main restaurant, burger bar, the olive restaurant of the beach bar restaurant. Entertainment here is available throughout the day, but there is no hard sell to take part. Offerings include boccia, darts, archery, beach volleyball, yoga etc... we took part in Boccia every morning at the beach with Cansu. My son played beach volleyball twice and loves it and Okan from entertainment team was very approachable and a great addition to the entertainment staff. The bar and restaurant staff work extremely hard but Okan, Serdar, Enes and Fevzi at the pool bar and beach bar of an evening were fab, and are great bar staff, remembering your drinks and making the time to chat with you. The only negative and its a very slight negative, is that a couple of the evening entertaiment acts were repeated each week ( magician/ illusionist) which if you're there for a fortnight can be disappointing and from memory, i thought they had a two week rolling program. However, the drifters appear to be repeated each week, but they are fabulous and get people up dancing. all in all, another fabulous stay!!! - the hotel an area of Side are beautiful and will will return.....

Swim up pool

Currently sat here at the swim up pool and nothing could be better . This is our 3rd day here and I cannot fault the hotel and it’s staff . There is a great attention to detail with all staff doing the little things very well and nothings is missed . Rooms fantastic the layout of the hotel is very well thought out ( if you looked towards the hotel from the beach you may even miss it … it’s certainly not a high rise block ! Beautiful gardens and outstanding pools, bars and restaurants. Very nice mix of people , polite and engaging . Food …very much spoilt for choice …entertainment is good .. certainly a recommendation from me

A secret slice of luxury

I don’t tend to write many reviews, but had to for this hotel. The place is simply amazing ! I can’t fault a single aspect of the hotel, honestly it’s a true 5 star experience. The food is excellent, there is every type of cuisine on offer throughout the day. The whole resort is so clean with evening looking brand new everyday. The staff are doing a fantastic job day and night to keep the resort at the level you’d expect ….. 5 star luxury ! The many bars are well stocked and the bar staff well trained, always ready to make any drink you require. I especially like the Kumsal bar which reminds me of being in Thailand or Bali with its sea views and sprawling gardens . Special thanks to Okan who treated us like family and was always happy to see us. The entertainment at the hotel is top notch. The staff manage to find the perfect balance of fun and entertainment without being intrusive. Bahar and Cansu are exceptional at their jobs, keep up the good work girls ! Thanks all for a brilliant holiday, see you again soon.
