Baros Maldives

My husband and I recently went on our romantic getaway to the Maldives to celebrate his birthday and our 20-year wedding anniversary and stayed at the Baros Maldives resort. To make this a very special celebration, I booked an over the water villa with a private pool and excellent room views. From the moment we reached the Baros resort, the staff welcomed us personally. They were already waiting for us at the end of the dock as we approached by speedboat. They introduced themselves one-by-one, handled our bags and offered us complimentary drinks while they made sure our room is ready. Baros resort has the perfect blend of historic charm and modern facilities. The entire island is a dream and a paradise complete with superb attentive staff. They went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Their exceptional hospitality, elegant villas, and safe and secure environment were just one of the best parts of this amazing resort. The exceptional customer service at this resort impressed us way beyond our expectations. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked around the resort. A few shout outs to these individuals that made our stay truly memorable, touching and unforgettable. Anas - our assigned and dedicated personal butler. He was always available for anything we needed, such as, special amenities, restaurant reservations, resort activities, etc. He also made my husband's birthday extra special by leaving a birthday cake surprise in our room. Jamil - (apologies if I misspelled it) - in addition to being a dedicated housekeeper, he is also very artistic! He decorated our bed with a birthday wish to my husband to which I can only imagine took him a very long time to do since he had to cut and shape each piece. Kayla - I enjoyed the morning conversations as she cut and prepared my fruits of choice every morning during breakfast. April - who was very thorough and passionate about ridding me of my stress during a very relaxing and refreshing spa visit. The premium amenities with spa and wellness facilities offered us an excellent experience. Anees - was so friendly and helpful at the airport. He met us as we got off the speedboat and handled our airport check-in, our bags and made sure we got to our gate on time and properly. He even stayed and waved at us until we got to the top of the escalator and disappeared into the midst of airport crowd. We received first-class service from the moment we arrived at the resort until the moment we left. The prime location of the hotel is a big plus, only a 30-minute boat ride from the airport. The facilities were top-notch, and the views from our room was simply stunning. The efficient check-in/check-out process left us thoroughly impressed. Overall, we had an amazing, wonderful and unforgettable experience with the Baros resort and it's exceptional and friendly staff. From the luxurious accommodations, serene surroundings, and attentive staff make it a perfect place for a getaway and relaxation. From delicious dining options to cozy rooms with stunning views, everything exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail in each aspect of the experience truly sets it apart. Thank you so much for making our trip one to remember for many, many years! I can only think of one thing to improve on our memorable time at Baros ... longer stay! Until next time!

Baros is an incredible island. The house reef is unbelievable - you walk out of your villa, across the sand of your private beach and the minute you duck your head under the water you are surrounded by fish. And it just kept getting better - beyond the wall it's like swimming in a giant aquarium. The Baros team also offered great day trips. Our favourite was the trip to see the manta rays. They came so close to us! Our boat had a crew of three and they looked after us really well and shared in our excitement about seeing the manta rays, even though they must have seen them hundreds of times! Sujata was our butler and she was so kind and helpful. She kept us organised and was very patient with us when we couldn't remember what activities we had booked. I also came down with a horrible head cold and she was brilliant at making sure I had ginger tea and cough medicine. She also made sure we had some lovely gifts to help us remember our magical honeymoon! If Baros were looking for areas to improve then they could look at their food service. We sometimes had to wait a long time for waiters, particular at the Sails Bar, and on one day they brought us the wrong food (we ordered a burger and a pizza arrived instead). For our candlelit dinner on the beach, we ordered a white wine but a red wine came instead, and when it was changed for a white wine it came from a different menu and we were charged for it (our initial wine choice came from the dine around menu and was included). On our final day I ordered the belgian waffles at breakfast and 45 minutes later they still had not arrived and I had to leave to catch the boat to the airport, waffle-less! This was only a minor criticism though and certainly didn't impact on our enjoyment of our holiday! We had an amazing time and would happily recommend Baros to friends and family.

Our first time in the Maldives and everything about spending it on Baros was perfection. The most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing island with its own wonderful house reef for fantastic snorkelling. You can easily be the only people on a stretch of beach for several hours. The staff at Baros are amazing and the service and accommodation is first class. Every detail is thought of so that your stay is truly memorable, with thoughtful, personal touches and a genuine desire for you to experience the best time of your life. The restaurants are wonderful with beautiful options and the breakfast at the start of the day is fabulous with a wide variety of fish and cooked options alongside fresh fruit, juices and pastries. We would like to mention a few of the Baros team who really made our stay particularly special. Firstly, our wonderful butler Sujata, who throughout our stay was so attentive and kind, and after 7 days we felt that we had made a wonderful friend. We’ll never forget her! We would also like to mention Sofi and Justus at the Sail Bar for their very attentive service, Hameed who ensured our room was always immaculate throughout our stay, Meisi in the Lime restaurant who was so lovely and remembered our names from the first day, and Ambra from the Dive Centre who is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Although we’ve mentioned particular people by name, everyone in the Baros team is exceptional. Thank you to everyone at Baros. We had a week in Paradise that we will remember for ever. We travel extensively and rarely post comments. We are compelled to do so as our stay at the Baros Maldives resort was truly outstanding. While we fully expected excellent weather, water, meals, and accommodations (we were not disappointed) we were truly impressed by the service: professional; engaging; appropriately discreet and flawless. We will identify a few members of the Baros team with whom we had closest contact: 1) Reema. Our “host” catered to our every need and beyond. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and were surprised by an intimate dinner, delicious cake and champagne. We return to our room later in the evening to find our room decorated with flowers carefully arranged on our bed and our bathtub filling with bubbly water and rose petals. Reema always had time to stop and talk with us to ensure we were well cared for and to tailor service to our needs every day. On the last day of our stay, our flight departed late in the evening. Reema kindly arranged for a late check out for us until 10 pm! 2) Rubin. Our SCUBA instructor expertly and patiently provided a refresher course and took us on our dive. He is everything one would want in a dive instructor: knowledgeable, calm, experienced, and extremely safety conscious. 3) Ainul. Twice daily Ainul would clean and organize our room to the highest level. Almost phantom like, Ainul would come and go to give us a fresh room - so much appreciated. And to all the staff we give the highest marks for always having a smile and offering any assistance as needed. Our Baros experience will be treasured until our next visit!!!!
