Baros Maldives

Our stay at Baros Maldives was nothing short of magical, and it continues to hold a very special place in our hearts as the perfect romantic island escape. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such a warm welcome by the staff, many of whom remembered us from our previous visit. That personal touch immediately made us feel at home again. A truly unforgettable part of our experience was our wonderful butler, Sujata. From the very beginning, she welcomed us with genuine warmth and kindness, and throughout our stay, she took exceptional care of us. She went above and beyond in every possible way—organising a breathtakingly romantic dinner on the piano deck, capturing the entire experience with beautiful, professional-quality photos, and curating unforgettable activities tailored perfectly to us. What made Sujata so special was not just her attentiveness, but her personality. She is incredibly modest, funny, and impressively organised, which made everything feel effortless and seamless. Even when we moved villas, she ensured the transition was completely smooth and stress-free. Every day, she found thoughtful ways to surprise us, making each moment feel unique and memorable. While every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and always ready for a lovely chat, Sujata truly stood out. She is without a doubt one of the nicest people we have ever met, and she played a huge role in making our second stay at Baros Maldives even more unforgettable than the first. We left with full hearts, already dreaming of our next visit.

I made my third visit to Baros in early March, 2026. Their service is excellent,; butler is available anytime, restaurant offers excellent food, activities are giving us wonderful experience, in every aspect they are giving us great service, support with good hospitality. You meet many repeaters there which means people once visit there love the environment and hospitality of Baros. Thank you Baros staff for the hospitality shown to us. Last but not least, diving was so good and enjoyed very much with the kindness of the guides.

This is the first time we chose an island in the Maldives that you can get to in 20mins via speedboat. It was a bit of a gamechanger as we landed at 6.30am in Male and were swimming in the sea by 8.30am! The island is gorgeous, they built the amenities around the trees that were there which I love. We stayed in the water villa which is beautiful and regularly had sharks rays and other fish passing by. Whilst a resort in the Maldives holds customer service to a high standard Baros has a very homely and personal feel to it. The staff are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. We were at the resort when the Iran war started and our return flights were cancelled. The resort was very accomodating in extending our stay, keeping us in the same room and also not overcharging. In fact they introduced a flat room charge across the resort and took many stranded tourists from Male who had nowhere to go.The management team are approachable and very accomodating. They made a very stressful situation peaceful.We really apprecited that! The island is close to Male which is visible from the beach. There are many cargo ships passing by but this didnt spoil anything. We were there to snorkel, this is always the highlight of our trip. The reef at Baros is teaming with life and many many sharks. Its fabulous to see. We saw fish that divers usually see so that was an unexpected treat. Dolphins came by one of the days as well! Much conservation work has been done over the years on the reef and the coral is growing in many areas, it is heartening to see this. As always though your surroundings are important but its the staff that make the stay here at Baros very special.A shout out to Shimla (for her smile and friendly greetings everyday) , Justus (for being a thorough gentleman) ,Sanjeeta and Nandhu at the Lime restaurant for their great service. A big thank you to Lakshita the executive chef who got special ingredients from Male to make us very special off menu meals that were just increadible. Thank you also to Ishty for his thali dinner it was proper home cookeing! Also a big thank you to Maria and Lama in the lighthouse bar for making the best cocktails, and to Shafique for looking after our room and great chats. Finally a big thank you to Albina who knew what we wanted and had coffee, drinks foods ordered even before we could ask for them. She is a great credit to the resort as are all the staff. Thank you all for a fabulous stay we will be back.

We have just returned from a superb stay at Baros. Complete relaxation, fantastic food, excellent villa (107 Deluxe Beach Villa). As ever our trip was seamlessly organised for us by Jo at Angelfish Travel who has extensive knowledge of the different resort islands in the Maldives and was able to recommend particular villas which would suit our needs. Baros is one of the most established island resorts in the Maldives and hosts a huge number of repeater guests - testament to its continued high standards. It has been extensively reviewed previously and I can only reiterate and confirm the comments about comfort, service, food and snorkelling. We ate most commonly in Lime and particularly enjoyed the various curries. However we also tried and enjoyed grilled fish at Cayenne and the slightly more formal meal at The Lighthouse. We found the staff throughout the island to be excellent and in particular would like to mention; Justus (who we knew from Milaidhoo) at Lime, particularly at breakfast. Sophie at the Sails Bar Maria in the Lighthouse Lounge Ruvi was our butler and she did her job superbly. Not only was she efficient but always smiling and happy. It was joy to see her everyday. We would also like to thank her for arranging a birthday meal followed by a bath with cake! This was our second trip to Baros and as we have made the decision to try to only visit resorts a speed boat ride away from the airport, we very much hope to return.
