We stayed at this resort based on a recommendation from our travel agent, although it was our first time here. Having visited numerous resorts across Mexico, we found this particular property to be the most underwhelming. Beach &
… Show more Facilities: The beach was very rocky, making it difficult to enjoy the water comfortably. On a positive note, we did spot sea turtles, which was a unique experience. The resort grounds were clean and visually appealing, but the atmosphere lacked vibrant evening entertainment, with most activities geared towards very young children. The reservation-only restaurants were average at best. They have a dolphin area where you can swim in a pool with same an an incident happened during our stay in which a dolphin suffered fatal injuries while guests were swimming with same. Food & Service: We were disappointed by the quality of the food. Additionally, communication with staff was challenging, as many spoke limited English. This often led to mix-ups with drink orders and a general sense of miscommunication. Serious Safety Incident: A deeply troubling incident occurred on our first day. While we were setting up our poolside area, our 13-year-old son fell onto a decorative fountain in the center of the pool, which was being climbed on by several children. There was no visible signage warning of the hazard, and pool staff later referred us to a general "pool rules" sign located near the restrooms—far from the actual fountain. Our son sustained significant injuries, including deep facial lacerations that required emergency surgical intervention. We are grateful to the hospital and resort medical staff who responded quickly and provided immediate care. However, we were shocked that the resort took no visible action following the incident—no signage was placed, and we continued to observe other children climbing on the same structure, completely unattended and other children suffered injuries falling in this same fountain during our stay. What was most upsetting was the resort's refusal to acknowledge the risk or accept any responsibility. Instead, they placed blame on our son, who had barely entered the pool and was injured within minutes. There were no safety measures such as grates or barriers to prevent such an accident, and the potential for a much worse outcome—including eye damage or drowning—was very real. Conclusion: We are extremely dissatisfied with how the situation was handled. The resort's lack of accountability and unwillingness to implement preventive measures after a serious injury is deeply concerning. While the property may appeal visually, its overall quality, safety standards, and guest care fall significantly short. We will not be returning and cannot in good conscience recommend this resort to others. Show less
