My son (11) and I stayed for 13 nights in August 2025 on a Jet2 package holiday (B&B basis), towards the end of the UK school holidays. I'm writing this while sitting in reception, waiting on our airport transfer and reflecting on our stay. Overall, the hotel is of a very good standard. It is a bright, fairly modern hotel, with spacious rooms and good amenities. Many of the staff made our stay a pleasant one - in the restaurant areas, Dimitra, Petra, Anaïs and Matilda (the sous-maitresse) were friendly and helpful. Valentino, the bell boy was always willing, helpful and proactive to help guests in the lobby area. The bar staff at the Chromata (lobby) bar work tirelessly and all deserve praise for their efforts. In particular, George, the Groom, that helped us on our arrival and continued to be warm and friendly throughout our stay deserves appreciation. He helped us out with an issue accessing our room on arrival and ensured our stay was going well every time he saw us for the rest of the holiday. The cleaning staff, from the team that services the rooms, the team that carries out the turn down service, through to all the staff keeping the whole hotel looking fresh and clean also deserve praise. They work tirelessly all day and night to ensure guests have a lovely environment. The mini market in the hotel is well stocked and we'll priced. Soft drinks are available at a significant discount to the ones you can purchase just metres away in the bar and the selection is broader. The team that work at the pool bars are all super-efficient and hard working too, particularly in the heat. A couple of things did irritate me though. I didn't find many of the reception staff particularly welcoming. Anna in particular just seemed constantly unhappy and disinterested in providing good service. As an example; on our last afternoon we returned from the pool to find out room keys not working, so made our way to reception. Anna served us and I explained the room keys weren't working. She simply took the room keys to re-programme them, offered no explanation or apology and took two phone calls while I was waiting for the room keys. I found this quite rude and below the customer service standards I would expect in a 5-star hotel. The lack of smile, explanation or attention to my issue, other than just doing the basics of resetting the room keys was poor, I felt, and I was left feeling like I was an inconvenience to Anna for an issue that was outside of my control. Also, Petra who leads the team around the pool area is rather aggressive in how she dealt with us on our last full day. Having seen others reserve loungers throughout our stay, we decided to do the same on our final day (the only time we attempted to do this during our visit). However, we were shouted at across the pool for doing this and told we couldn't reserve loungers. We removed our things, went to breakfast and returned 45 minutes later to find new loungers. As you can probably guess, other loungers around the area we sat in had been reserved and people didn't come to use them until much later in the morning, but there was no sign of Petra ensuring that loungers weren't reserved. As a result we felt like the rules were very selective and that Petra wanted to make an example of us, when plenty of others weren't treated the same way. Although a number of guests were staying on an all inclusive basis, I found that there was no rowdiness or drunkenness that can sometimes be experienced in European hotels with similar packages. There were lots of families at the hotel and the atmosphere was relaxed and safe. In conclusion, would I stay here again? Maybe. The hotel has some plus points - the tennis and padel courts are good. It is well located for Rhodes Town and there are plenty of local restaurants and shops within a short walk along the seafront. The pool is excellent, with lots of space and the activity team is good and has plenty of energy. The evening entertainment is also much better than I have seen in most hotels. My ultimate impression though, is that the hotel feels a little clinical. Everything felt a bit "surface". Staff were nice, but there was a lack of genuine warmth and caring about their jobs, which came through in how customers were dealt with. It's like a machine that is there to do what is needed, but lacks the personal touch or friendliness I have experienced in other resort hotels. I stayed in Corfu at a Grecotel LuxMe resort a few years ago and found the whole experience more welcoming and left with a much greater desire to return one day. I would likely come back to Rhodes on the future, but I'm not sure that I would choose the Atrium Platinum again.
