Aqua Blu Boutique Hotel & Spa

My daughter and I have just returned from a delightful 4 nights at the Aqua Blu - it lived up to all the reviews we read before booking. Upon arrival we were met by the charming manager, Kostas, who was ever present overseeing the smooth running of the hotel. If he wasn't around then his no 2, Paris was, and she was also lovely. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. A big shout out to Alvin who knew within 24 hours that I like to start the day with an oat cappuccino! Our room was well equipped, housekeeping were very thorough and efficient, and we didn't need to ask for anything - it was always already there! The little notes left on the bed along with a chocolate every evening were so thoughtful. The hotel is maintained beautifully throughout and is a calm and peaceful place. Breakfast is a mix of a la carte and buffet - all tastes well catered for. We only ate in the hotel on the first evening as we arrived late - food was good. We both had excellent massages and spent some time in the spa - excellent again. The hotel is situated a 25 minute brisk walk out of Kos town which was perfect for us. The town is very touristy with a few good restaurants and lots of bars and ice cream shows - it must be really crazy from June to September. October was the ideal time for a mother daughter trip as things were quietening down and getting ready to close for the winter. The weather was hot with a slight breeze. We walked or cycled everywhere even in the evenings (we felt totally safe) but I saw plenty of taxis for those that prefer to travel by car. All in all a perfect 4 day break and we would definitely return.

We spent a fabulous 9 days at this wonderful hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and staff so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Special shout out to Georgia and Elias they really did make our stay special. The Manager greeted us on arrival with a welcome drink which I thought was a nice touch. We spent most mornings in the gym before a delicious breakfast with a buffet as well as menu choice. We hired bikes, and visited Tigkaki and Marmari beach and cycled the opposite direction one day through Kos town to hot springs. Kos is very cycle friendly with cycle routes everywhere. We also hired a scooter to visit Paradise beach and stopped at Zia on the return journey which is definitely worth a visit. Would highly recommend booking the day sailing trip with “Sail Kos” allowing only a max. of 12 passengers, stopping for snorkelling, swimming and lunch freshly cooked onboard. Our hotel suite overlooked the sea and at the end of the day we would sit on the balcony with a drink watching the most amazing sunsets. We also had a couples massage at the hotel spa that was one of the best we’ve had. Walked into the town most evenings (20 mins). Old town is worth a visit. Would recommend Agkyra fish restaurant on the seafront. Sunset restaurant is nearer hotel and also really nice plus we ate in Cuvee for husband’s birthday. which was a lovely experience. Would highly recommend this hotel as it’s in a fab location away from the main town, and adults only which is an added bonus.
