We recently returned from a 2 week holiday at Alaya, staying in Casa Alaya. We were made immediately welcome by Stefan on reception. Stefan, Silvestre and Daniel continued to provide an excellent service throughout our stay. They were

It had a fully equipped kitchen including a washing machine. Fresh drinking water was provided as required, as were coffee pods for the nespresso type machine. The property had a deck overlooking the beach with a private plunge pool. The view was amazing and we saw plenty of wildlife. The sun/moon rise and settings were beautiful. A big thank you to the housekeeping team who worked hard and made the villa pristine. Food and drinks were readily available with room service and the beach bar. All the staff were so kind and helpful. Particular thanks to Ismael, Jhony, Henry, Mitzi and Marciano. The morning yoga was enjoyable, I got to try different types of yoga. My husband and two adult sons did alot of cenote scuba diving (which was the reason we chose Mexico for a holiday). Two of them are PADI divemasters and they found the cenotes incredible. We also had a trip to Chichen Itza. This is an absolute must, but go with a guide, otherwise you will miss so much. The hotel itself is near the main resorts restaurants and bars. There is a great little beach style bar opposite the hotel, this is also surrounded by street food trucks offering a varied choice -pizza, burgers, taco etc . If you turn left outside the hotel there is a supermarket about 5 mins walk away, they had some great sandwiches and all basic needs. There were many lovely restaurants in the resort to choose from, Bak being our favourite. We had such a lovely, restful break. Thank you so much Alaya. Show less
