One of the nicest places we stayed. Beautiful scenery and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Struck a wonderful friendship with Sukranata who is a wealth of knowledge in the area. We got to see and participate in so many things there and in Ubud itself. We were lucky enough to catch professional Balinese dancers on our last night which was a real highlight. Wonderful time and experience.

Disappointing Experience at Alam Ubud Cultural Resort Our group of 12 had a very disappointing stay at Alam Ubud Cultural Resort. The overall experience was far from what we expected. • Poor Service: The staff was not supportive, and the hospitality did not match the standard of a quality resort. • Food Quality: The food was below average, lacking both taste and variety. • Hygiene Issues: The towels provided were not clean, raising concerns about overall cleanliness and maintenance. • Not Worth the Price: Given the level of service and facilities, the resort does not offer good value for money. Whether you’re visiting as a couple or with a group, I would not recommend staying here. There are better options in Bali that offer much better service, cleanliness, and hospitality. ⸻ This keeps your review clear, direct, and credible. What a lush spot in the middle of the jungle in Ubud! About 30 mins out of the bustle of Ubud, beautifully layered above a local river. With the reception, restaurant and spectacular pool at the top of the resort that provides you with excellent service and delicious meals and beverages amongst the lush nature. The spacious villas are layered from the top to the river below. The rooms are equipped with all that you need, with gorgeous views of nature. So peaceful and tranquil. Be ready to get your steps in, but it’s so so worth it! But I promise you, you won’t regret it.

I had the distinct pleasure of staying at Alam Ubud Culture Villas for 12 peaceful nights during my trip to Bali. I very rarely write reviews but was so impressed by the service and accommodation that I had to give kudos to the team for their prompt and courteous attendance while managing to keep the grounds in pristine condition. I opted for a room with a private pool (Yudistira). The main room and bathroom were both spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner was silent and the hot water was plentiful for long morning showers. There was a small bar fridge in the room which was handy for keeping groceries and water nice and cool. Room cleaning (including coffee/tea station + 2x water bottle refill and towel replacing) was available daily at request from the reception (just use the room phone). They have a laundry service available and generally will have your laundry pressed, folded and back to you within 24 hours. Outside the little private infinity pool was well maintained. I had zero problems with mosquitoes or other jungle critters coming into the room; I just made sure to keep the doors closed when venturing outside to the pool. The wifi was solid with no issues streaming from either my iPad or television. The grounds encompassing the entire place is quite large with steps and terraces descending down the valley to a spring fed pool and finally a large decking at the base near the river. There is a ramp that descends down a portion of the way but traversal of the grounds is best done on foot with good footwear as it can get slippery. Having a restaurant with room service available onsite until 22:00 was fantastic. After 12 nights I had sampled most of the menu and was delighted with the variety and quality of food. The complimentary breakfast that came with the room needs to be ordered the day before with reception. The selection was ample with traditional Balinese to Western or vegetarian breakfasts. Tea and coffee was available at the buffet. There is also a little bar on the premises with a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There is a daily shuttle to the main town (approx., 20-30 min drive due to traffic) available at 11am and 15:00; these shuttles do need to be booked 1 hour before with reception to ensure a driver and vehicle is called for offsite when needed. Getting back to the villa was as simple as ordering a Grab car. Tours and custom packages can be organised through the reception. I opted for their morning walk tour (local rice paddy fields + waterfall trek; ensure good footwear) and also a custom tour package (tour guide + driver for 10 hours). I also tried their cooking class which was not only scenic and educational, but also delicious. In summary I had a wonderful time at Alam Ubud Culture Villas & Residences. They were a wonderful host and guide to Balinese culture and the region. Will 100% return for another relaxing and peaceful holiday.

We had such a beautiful stay! The staff are so wonderful and kind. The scenery is unreal and the infinity pool/villa pools are amazing. No need to put on sleep sounds before bed, you have real jungle noise and the sound of a waterfall to go to sleep too. Stunning! We booked this hotel with the intention of not leaving so the location wasn’t an issue for us. However if you want to explore, it is far from Ubud centre and not easy to navigate on the back of a Gojek. All staff were super accommodating. Gluten free was no issue however options were limited as expected. Here are a few things I wish I knew before booking though: The hotel is very old and definitely needs a refresh. Due to this, outdoor beddings and curtains etc are a bit gross and mouldy. The hotel rooms need a thorough clean. Most wood items are rotting. This hotel is not at all equipped for physically disabled people. It is on a hill in the jungle and there is quite literally thousands of high steps to get from the pool to breakfast to your room. Its exhausting. The massages weren’t the best but still lovely to get them to the sounds of the jungle. But overall, we paid AUD314 for 2 night stay in a huge villa with a private pool (breakfast included) and would absolutely come again.
