Older review that had been deleted so re applying. This hotel was a huge waste of money. Poor in all areas, cleanliness, food, management, grounds open to the public after paying nearly £4k to not have a seat at the bar full of random non guests. Avoid. If it wasn't for the swim up room we'd have flown home. How anyone didn't get sick after being in the main pool is beyond me.

We went to Akron seascape in sidari corfu it was supposed to have been to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary we went with tui as there advertising made it look good oh how wrong we was we went 5/7/24 for 14 nights . When we arrived we had NO aircon for our first 4 days/nights after talking to vassia our tui rep we got the air conditioning on it had been wired into a switch outside the bathroom door I have never come across that before you could leave the patio door open and still have air conditioning. After getting the air conditioning sorted the electricity to our room went off just our room reported it and was told it would get sorted so removed all plugs and left one light switch on so as able to see it from restaurant, which we did not like to use ,found the food old and cold ,the electricity came back on we returned to the room I plugged the tv in there was a flash and a bang I received an electric shock and the tv did not work anymore and had to be replaced . The restaraunt food was very limited okay if you liked cheap chicken nuggets and chips, under a table in the corner of the restaurant there was a drain cover would not have known if I hadn’t caught my foot on it on one of the rare times we used it ,a little shi tzu dog used to turn up in the restaurant most nights we used to see it as we walked past . The swimming pool was not the cleanest or safest there was a green slimy mark around the inside of the pool which they tried to blame on people wearing sunscreen lotion and oil at one point the pool was very murky and green it was not being treated with chemicals sufficiently which became quite apparent when we watched them pouring bags of crystals and chemicals into the pool one evening. The steps into the pool were quite slippery and tiles were damaged,the overflow grills around the pool were filthy and did not fit properly some were cemented in ,the trough under the grilles was green and slimy it took at least 3 days for the pool to clear after being treated none of the filters could be seen to be working ,could not understand people swimming in the pool also outsiders coming in to use the pool ,we watched a backpacker and his partner use the pool then go to the toilets and get changed all unchallenged, we had to pay nearly £3000 for that privilege . We had a swim up room and would sit out by the pool the sunbed outside the room there was 2 one was okay the second one fell apart when I tried to adjust it ,the rise and fall bracket fell apart when my wife tried to move it ,from where our room was we could see the restaurant, the bin outside was always full and overflowing everyday around 3 to 4 there was a very strong sewage smell just across from our swim up pool a tanker lorry used to turn up frequently through the evening and into early morning ie 2am we asked our tui rep vassia if she could pop in one day after she had dealt with another guest upstairs from she came to us I we started to tell her our issues her reply was “I’m sorry I thought you wanted to book a trip “ I will have to comeback after I have finished with this other person but she never comeback we never see her again in my opinion this hotel is not even a 2 star we knew the cove was a tourist attraction but perhaps we were a bit naive to think that visitors to the cove would not be using the Akron facilities . After the electric shock my wife was told she could have mojitos free of charge the fact the electric shock could have killed me did not matter to Akron or tui hence my life is only worth £70 in compensation so disappointed in tui and there advertising . Ps they advertise entertainment ,it is twice weekly a couple on keyboards and guitar and Greek night is 3 dancers.

You should avoid Akron Seascape if you can, it is absolutely dreadful. - the swimming pool is so cold it’s like swimming in the Arctic Ocean - the food was cold and inedible and frankly unsafe at the temperature it was kept at - our room was a maisonette which had a steep, winding staircase that my husband fell on and injured himself - there was no lights in the external corridors leading to apartments. It was pitch black and a lot of the floor tiles were broken and uneven - the bar serves flat soft drinks that have been left out all day. - The only facility was a pool table that was ripped - the place has a general lacklustre feel with broken steps and paving and unkempt furniture -During the time we were there they were packing up the resort, including the sun loungers. - The electrics and gas cylinders for the hotel are uncovered in the grounds. -On top of this, on arrival they told us that they were closing the hotel early so we would be found alternative accommodation! The massage lady is lovely and some of the bar staff were nice and I do mean some, not all. I brought this hotel through Tui; it is nothing at all like the pictures on Tui’s website. And Tui could not have been more unhelpful.

This was our second trip to Akron having fallen in love with it last year. This year however we’ve been a little disappointed, and are gutted to have not loved it as much as 2023. Our issue from last year with the beds being hard hasn’t changed, this year we actually came with a mattress topper to try and resolve the issue 😂 but sadly it wasn’t enough, and the mattress was a struggle for a side sleeper like me. The food last year was fab, so much choice and selection, really enjoyed it - this year the selection was noticeably reduced - one whole side of hot plates wasn’t in use, the availability of ice cream every day in the restaurant was gone (though it’s there in the bar by the pool), the desserts were much reduced too. Just a little bit disappointing that one of our favourite things of the holiday from last year had really changed. As someone that doesn’t eat beef/lamb I did find my options a little more difficult this year, as I didn’t want to always eat the same beige food - but what I did have was nice enough. I loved the availability of fresh Greek salads every day. Most days the lovely varied desserts that I remembered from last year were this year the same things pretty much every day, and were often frozen in the middle. The cocktail menu has also changed a lot from last year - this year it’s very much white spirits with lime and sugar syrup for a variety of the same cocktail, which is a shame. A few tweaks and it could be great with a more varied selection. The rooms overall are good, the cleaners come every day and empty the bins, the towels are changed every few days. No complaints! You get 2 cards to change the pool towels you’re given twice, which I was more than happy with. The pool could do with a little refurb like lots of people have commented on. The drains are a little discoloured and broken in many places so be cautious when walking on them. The minor things people comment on like some chipped tiles really didn’t bother us at all. The bar staff at times could be a little unfriendly (only a couple of staff) but for the majority everyone has been lovely, particularly the restaurant staff who I can’t praise enough, so friendly and welcoming and happy to answer questions. The location of Akron is still beautiful, and that won’t change. The proximity to canal d’amour is truly wonderful, the little coves and bays nearby are lovely, it’s so easy to walk into the main strip in Sidari if you want to, and there are lots of restaurants and shops around for everything you need . It would be lovely to see the bottom bar on the road used more, it’s such a nice space to sit out in the evening, play pool or cards and have a drink. It’s a great space that I’m sure people would really use if the bar was running there. Whilst we won’t be returning to Akron, it is a nice hotel it’s just not what it was for us last year. But thank you for letting us enjoy beautiful Corfu for another year, and for making us feel so welcome 🇬🇷🧿🤍

Not big on cleaning properly. Shower heads in room filthy. Pool hand not been cleaned since start of season by the look of it. Food very repetitive on a daily basis. Served warm bottled pop round pool bar with glass full of ice. Not much choice for kids at meal times. Needs a good tidy or a bit of a re fit. Defiantly not 4 star anymore in my opinion. On the plus side fantastic location for canal d’amour.
