Aegean View Aqua Resort

I stayed with my son at the hotel for 10 days at the beginging of August 2024 all-inclusive. We had a lovely, full of memories holiday. Superb location with lovely views to the Aegian see, good night entertainment and day aqua gymnastics, every day great variety of delicious food and in abundance, the numerous swimming pools always very clean, the staff amazing and keen always to help, the room very spacious & clean with a balcony, room cleaning service daily. We are not heavy alcohol drinkers, but there was a wide variety of drinks all day, icluding conctails. For the beer lovers, there was one local beer (Zorbas), but it was indeed very nice. There is a courtesy mini-bus from the hotel to Kos Town from 9am to 15.30pm (the trip lasts 20 minutes), which in the morning can become rather crowded. Alternatively, a taxi can be used, the cost is 10 Euro each way - bear in mind that July & August are the busiest months, so you may have to wait for a taxi, sometimes up to 35-40 minutes. Kos Town and other towns in the island are really beautiful with many archaelogical sites, pleny sandy beaches with crystal-clean sea water and water sports in almost all beaches. A visitor can travel in Kos and other towns with buses - an alternative way to travel in Kos and the nearby beaches is to hire a bike - the cost is 5 Euros for the whole day. We visited during a day trip the nearby islands Kalymnos, Pserimos and Plati, a trip that is a great fun and I would strongly recommend. Overall, we had a superb holiday and if we re-visit the island Kos we would again stay at the Aegean View Aqua Resort.

Firstly, I'll start this review by stating that my family and I were really concerned about the negative reviews, so much so we was in constant contact with Jet2 trying to change hotels before our departure, however, we are glad we didn't. This is my first review on tripadvisor as we felt we needed to do one to address the negative reviews. The Hotel The hotel is a big complex with various pools dotted about. Each block of rooms has its own pool along with the 'main' pool where the bar and entertainment are. I think the location of your room is quite important at this resort. We stayed in room 127 & 307 and the location was perfect for us with 3 pools to choose from. Whilst in reception we did hear numerous complaints about the rooms in block 400. Food and Drink The food at the hotel really is good, with themed nights and lots of variety (even for picky eaters & kids). The restaurant can get extremely busy at peak times but we only struggled to find a table on one occasion in the week and there was 7 of us. The drinks are what you expect at all-inclusive, soft drinks, beers and cocktails. My only complaint here is the cocktails are very limited and towards the back of the week starting to get fed up of drinking the same stuff. The drinks aren't strong and can have plenty without feeling tipsy. The toasties and ice cream etc are good and they are on a help yourself basis. Rooms We had a masionette and junior suite with sea view and have no complaints with rooms. Yes, they are pretty basic but have everything you need and you really don't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. Wasps Wasps are everywhere at this resort. They generally don't seem to bother you but I can understand why people don't like this. In the week we spent their we had one sting on our daughter as it managed to get up her dress. I think the panic and wafting the wasp away caused the sting rather than it being aggressive. Location The hotel is about a 55 minute walk into Kos town, although with the roads and terrain it really would be a difficult walk. Travelling around the resort via taxis really is a problem here, if you want a taxi you can expect at least an hour waiting time. However, there are private transfers which are a little bit more expensive but are usually there for you within 15 mins, the driver will hand you a card to call him to pick you back up. This is what we ended up using for the duration of the holiday. Power cuts The hotel does seem to have an issue with its power. There are at least 5 power cuts each day, however these only usually last a couple of minutes and the power is then back up and running. It usually occurs around 5-7pm when people are getting ready. this didn't cause us any issues at all during our holiday. Shop The shop is a good little shop but please be aware this is cash only and there is no ATM on site, so make sure to take euros in cash with you. Summary We had a lovely week at Aegean View, yes it has its slight issues but as do most other hotels. We enjoyed it so much we even tried to extend our stay there by 3 extra nights on the last day but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. If you do have this hotel booked then ignore the negative reviews, go, and the holiday is what you make it. We had a wonderful family holiday here & wouldn't hesitate to return.

I am here now and like many others read the reviews and was really worried what we were going to to find when got here. We arrived at 2am after a delayed flight and was met by a member of staff who was very helpful checking us in and taking care of our luggage and as we are staying at the top of the resort loaded our luggage into the hotel car and drove us to our room. Yes the rooms are a little dated and could do with a bit of a make over but the beds are clean and the shower perfectly usable. We are lucky to have a pool outside our room and have had it to ourselves which has been lovely! There are so many pools here so spolit for choice! Food is what you would expect from any ai buffet and so far we are yet to go hungry! Kids are enjoying ice cream, cake ,fruit and cheese and ham tosties on tap! So far nothing to complain about! The resort is extensive so a work out on the walk back to the room. Water park is great with a large pool and 3 slides and a smaller park for younger children. Also the views are amazing and on our first night we were met with an amazing sunset.

I and my family have just returned from this absolutely BRILLIANT hotel, the facilities and food where well above any expectation. Mrs. Venetiki and her team made our stay so welcoming and in other " all inclusive hotels " we have stayed at. I have always made a contingency plan to eat out if the food wasn't satisfactory. But at the Aegean view hotel we ate breakfast, lunch and supper. And my 2 sons said that it was " really nice" which is high praise indeed from 11 and 13 year old. From the swimming pools to all the staff. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had!!! Also would like to give a shout out to Miss Evi and Sophia for sorting out any things we needed

I was very worried seeming the reviews before we left but it’s been a very nice holiday I couldn’t t say a bad word yes the rooms are just standard room like most hotels r a bored and the pools were clean every day as I seen the staff do it we had a smashing holiday
