We just returned from our third stay at Acanthus Cennet Barut Collection – this time at the end of March, beginning of April – and once again, everything was truly exceptional. We travelled as a couple with our 10-year-old child and were once again reminded why this hotel is such a gem. Let me start with the atmosphere – the hotel is peaceful, intimate, and never overcrowded. No wristbands, no queues for towels, drinks or meals – everything is thoughtfully organised and elegant. The location is perfect: right on the beach, and just a short walk from the old town of Side. Despite rainy weather this time, the whole experience remained absolutely wonderful. Room: We stayed in a Side Sea View room with a stunning view towards the old town and the morning sunrises over the sea. The sound of waves in the morning was pure magic. The room was bright, spotless, spacious and cleaned perfectly every day. Nothing has changed since our previous stays – still the same excellent standard and decor. Food & Drinks: The quality and variety of food are on a top-level. All meals in the buffet restaurant were delicious and beautifully presented. Due to the weather, à la carte breakfast wasn’t available this time, but we enjoyed fantastic à la carte lunches at the outdoor restaurant and two beautiful dinners at Saffron and Lavantine (Italian) restaurants. Service in all restaurants and bars was warm, efficient and very professional. Cocktails were made with care – right glasses, proper techniques, and even customisation for individual preferences. Every drink felt like it came from a classy cocktail bar. Staff & Service: The staff throughout the hotel were simply fantastic. It’s hard to highlight one person – everyone, from housekeeping to restaurant managers, delivered consistently top-level service. Special praise for the buffet restaurant team – always welcoming, and the chefs would go out of their way to explain dishes or prepare something special if needed. Facilities: The spa was very clean, and we made full use of the indoor heated pool and gym – all well maintained. One small suggestion would be to consider heating the outdoor pool during colder months – we noticed only swim-up rooms had heated private pools. Entertainment & Atmosphere: We came for relaxation, not entertainment, and the hotel delivered perfectly: peaceful beach and poolside vibes, no loud music, and service available anywhere via QR code – drinks delivered quickly and discreetly, always with a smile. One minor suggestion would be to consider offering a quieter, jazz-lounge style evening space with smoother music. Some indoor evening shows were quite loud, and something more chill like jazz or bossa nova would better match the refined feel of the hotel. Special Occasions: We were also celebrating a 50th birthday during our stay – the hotel arranged everything beautifully: decorated table, a special cake, a thoughtfully prepared room and a gentle, respectful celebration that felt personal and warm. Truly appreciated. Final Thoughts: We will definitely be coming back for the fourth time. We've already recommended this hotel after our very first visit – and still do without hesitation. During this stay, we met guests who had visited 4, 5, even 17 times! That speaks volumes. This hotel is ideal for adults aged 35+, couples, and families looking for peaceful luxury, excellent cuisine, refined cocktails and a serene, high-quality experience. If that’s what you’re after – book it without a second thought.
