We had a really bad experience at this high end overpriced resort. We’d had wonderful experiences at this location overlooking Hanalei Bay when it was the Princeville Resort, then the St Regis. When Hotel 1 rebuilt on the site, they obviously missed the boat. We dropped by to have a drink and to see what had been done by the new owner. We told the guard our intention and were told it was valet parking only and that the cost was $50. Before we had time to gasp, she told us that if we spent $100 at the bar or restaurant the valet fee would be waived. We decided to give that a try. The upstairs bar wasn’t open yet so we were sent to the bar downstairs at the restaurant. We sat at a high top near the bar and were told by the bartender that he’d be over in a minute. Well, we watched him serve everyone EXCEPT us for 20 minutes and finally walked out. I can’t imagine paying $1,300 a night in a place with service this poor. The good news is that they didn’t charge us $50 for valet parking. Stay away from this place unless you want to pay big bucks for terrible service..

Happy at Hanalei Bay

I recently stayed at 1 Hotel at Hanalei Bay on the island of Kauai. It was a delightful and memorable experience. While there I received a facial from Lauren and it was fabulous. She was welcoming and attentive to all my needs as was the entire staff at the Bamford Wellness Spa. As I requested Lauren explained the process and products she used during the facial. I would highly recommend a facial from Lauren. I also had the pleasure of attending stretching, yoga and Pilates classes and found the instructors to be knowledgeable, kind and eager to lead the participants in a meaningful experience. Kevin was the instructor for 1 Reset which I would highly recommend you try. It was truly a restoring and realigning for my mind and body. Nilce was the Pilates instructor and did a lovely job of making everyone comfortable and motivated to have the best experience possible. Mahalo to all of the wonderful staff at 1 Hotel at Hanalei Bay. It was DELIGHTFUL!!

Great Remodel

Remodel is spectacular. Staff was fantastic, especially Mallar at check-in & Carlos behind the main bar. Rooms all have beautiful views. Restaurants, especially the Japanese inspired one were very strong. Cannot beat the pool/beach/snorkeling.
